A new preview for Jordan Peele’s third horror film Nope is out and with it, the director has finally confirmed the nature of the movie’s plot, pitting its protagonists against an invisible alien threat. However, that’s about as far as Peele might be willing to go as Nope’s trailer remains just as puzzling.
The first teaser for Nope was released during this year’s Super Bowl, then introducing audiences to the Haywood siblings, James (Daniel Kaluuya) and Jill (Keke Palmer), heirs to the first and only black-owned horse training ranch in Hollywood, yet very little was said besides that. Instead, Nope only showcased tiny glimpses at the Haywoods' life getting turned upside down, but now the final trailer officially confirms what the movie’s poster had already leaned into, Peele is taking on aliens this time around.

Certainly, Nope doesn’t beat around the bush too much as the trailer opens up right into the horrific scenario that haunts the Haywood ranch as an unnamed threat straight from the sky first takes out their Pops. What follows is some brief insight into how James and Jill go about dealing with their alien problem, which involves hiring the help of presumed UFO specialist Craig (Michael Wincott) to capture what they call «the Oprah shot” of this life from another planet, whose airship might just show up towards the end, — though the latter part is probably a bluff, no one will really know for sure until July 22 when the film finally premieres.
For a film as wrapped in mystery as Nope, it might be worth it for fans of Peele's work to check out the movie’s international trailer for a different perspective on how the director can incite so much interest in this promising piece
