The latest update has heightened anticipations for the sequel to the hit Bob Odenkirk-led action thriller.
Nobody has become one of 2021’s fan-favorite movie releases. The critically acclaimed feature, directed by Ilya Naishuller (Hardcore Henry) and written by Derek Kolstad (Derek Kolstad), follows Odenkirk’s Hutch Mansell, whose real character is far different from his family man and unassertive persona.
When a group of petty thieves broke into their suburban home, his bottled rage escalated into something bigger, which led him into a violent war with a Russian mafia boss. In order to save his family, Hutch must reveal his true self and teach others a lesson to “never underestimate a nobody.”
Collider reported that the sequel to the hit action thriller is slated to commence filming from August to October of this year. In addition to Odenkirk, Connie Nielsen is set to reprise her role as Hutch’s wife, Becca Mansell. However, Naishuller won’t be returning to direct the sequel. The outlet also reported that Nobody 2 is still in the process of finding a director.
The movie, which debuted to critical acclaim, also starred RZA as Harry Mansell, Aleksei Serebryakov as Yulian Kuznetsov, Michael Ironside as Eddie Williams, Christopher Lloyd as David Mansell, Billy MacLellan as Charlie Williams, Gage Munroe as Blake Mansell, Paisley Cadorath as Abby Mansell, Aleksandr Pal as Teddy Kuznetsov, Araya Mengesha as Pavel, and Colin Salmon as The Barber.
Apart from starring, Odenkirk also served as the film’s producer alongside Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, Braden Aftergood, and Marc Provissiero.
The synopsis for Nobody reads: “A docile family man slowly reveals his true character after his house gets burgled by two petty thieves, which, coincidentally, leads him into a bloody war with a Russian crime boss.”
