The Nintendo Switch 2 may not be released before March 2025, as developers have apparently been told not to expect a launch during the current fiscal year.
GamesIndustry's Chris Ding shared a new update on the console's release today. At around the 1:00 mark of this podcast, he said that no developer he has talked to expects the Nintendo Switch 2 to be released this fiscal year because they have been told not to expect it. Some people hope to see an April/May release, but as of now, the system's release window remains unknown.
Such a late release for the Nintendo Switch 2 is definitely worrying, considering the system's silicon has been ready for a long time, and even people at NVIDIA are wondering why it is taking so long for the console to release. The system was already going to be a little dated with a 2024 release, and things would only be worse with a 2025 release.
If anything, the console launching in the next fiscal year could give the Japanese company more time to produce more units and make it readily available in stores in its launch windows, which is one of its main focuses, as revealed a while back.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has yet to be officially revealed. We will let you know more about the system as soon as possible, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
