An interesting new Tekken 8 PC mod has been released, boosting the game's graphical fidelity beyond the game's ultra graphic settings.
Created by 'xowny', this mod enhances the game's visuals by using full-resolution screen-space reflections. In addition, the modder's configuration file enables GTAO Ambient Occlusion (instead of SSAO), which allows for more for more precise and stable ambient occlusion results. "GTAO, on the other hand, is a more advanced technique that takes advantage of temporal anti-aliasing (TAA) information. It uses information from previous frames to improve the accuracy of occlusion
calculations", the creator of the mod explains.
This mod also comes with a Shadow Denoiser which should result in cleaner and smoother shadows, thereby further enhancing visual fidelity. Also included is 16x Anisotropic Filtering, resulting in sharper and more detailed textures. Last but not least, the config file allows users to enable asynchronous compute, which, as the modder describes, "can result in faster rendering times, particularly in scenes with complex lighting, post-processing effects, or computationally intensive calculations. It can help distribute the workload more efficiently across the CPU and GPU, allowing for better utilization of available hardware resources."
It's an interesting mod for PC players playing Tekken 8 on a high-end platform. Of course, we also have the Tekken 8 overlay mod from some weeks ago. This mod was released for the game's demo version and enabled UE5's Lumen tech, unlocked the game's FPS, added upscaling, and more. Unfortunately, this mod hasn't been updated yet for the full version of the game. At this point, we're not entirely sure when this mod will be updated for the full release of Tekken 8.
