Sony has announced a new State of Play stream will take place on Thursday 23rd February, featuring a bunch of new PSVR 2 games and an in-depth look at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

With PlayStation VR 2 launching tomorrow, people are already looking to the future beyond the launch window games, which while they come in large numbers do feature quite a few remasters and ports. Sony promises a “first glimpse” at five PSVR 2 games that are due out later in 2023, which we take to mean five new game announcements, hopefully one of which is another major first party exclusive. Then again, I doubt anyone would complain if Half-Life: Alyx is amongst them!
As well as PSVR 2 games, there will be some games from third party partners, and a 15 minute look at actual gameplay from Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Suicide squad: Kill the Justice League has been in development for what feels like forever, with the last game that developer Rocksteady Studios produced being Batman: Arkham Knight in 2015. The game had long been rumoured – sometimes as a Superman game – before it was eventually announced in 2020 for a 2022 release. That slipped back to early 2023, and eventually settled on 26th May 2023.
Stepping over to the morally questionable antics of the Suicide Squad, the game will feature a Justice League that has been brainwashed, presenting a pretty large hurdle to their survival. It’s a co-op action game, but we’ve not really seen any actual gameplay from it in the past three years.
