Skydance New Media has just announced a new partnership with Lucasfilm Games to create an all-new Star Wars title. The game will be “a richly cinematic action-adventure game featuring an original story” with Uncharted-series writer and director Amy Hennig at the helm.
“I’ve often described how seeing Star Wars in 1977 essentially rewired my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future indelibly,” said Skydance New Media president Hennig. “I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love.”

This isn’t the first time Hennig has been given the Star Wars license to play with. While working at Visceral Games, Hennig contributed to Project Ragtag, an action-adventure game that was reportedly built in the same narrative style as Uncharted. Unfortunately, the game was eventually canceled after Visceral Games was shut down in October 2017. Development was then taken over by EA Vancouver before being scuttled entirely.
Hennig would move on to Skydance Media in 2019 where she’d head its new video game division. Late last year, Skydance announced a partnership with Marvel to produce a triple-A action-adventure game with an original story. Not much is known about the game, but a recent podcast revealed info that has fans speculating it’ll star either Ant-Man or The Fantastic Four.
As for this new Star Wars title, we have even less information to go on. According to Lucasfilm Games vice president Douglas Reilly, it’ll feature a “unique” and “cinematic” story worthy of the brand, while Skydance Media’s executive VP said it’ll be an action-adventure game.
