Krafton has announced that it will be adding a respawn system and a clan function to PUBG: Battlegrounds as part of the game's Update 23.2.
The update is live on the PC Test Server and will be fully live for PC on May 17 as well as consoles on May 25. The respawn system is called Recall and allows players to pick up a special item called a Blue Chip from a teammate's death box. During every match, a Blue Chip Tower spawns randomly and players can use them to register their corresponding Blue Chips.
Multiple Blue Chips can be registered concurrently and the activation takes about 10 seconds. A successful revival will have the appropriate teammate respawned in the next phase of the match. After a tower has been used, it will be inactive for a time. Furthermore, players can grab their opponent's Blue Chips to prevent them from respawning their own teammates.
PUBG is also adding a new clan system along with a progression system called clan levels. Players who are in a clan can earn a 30% BP boost and double XP bonus from playing together. Each clan can have up to 100 members and a cumulative level of 20. Additionally, there is a clan channel chat feature that allows players to communicate with each other.
PUBG is still receiving strong support since its debut in 2017. Last month's updates included a speedier map rotation and a new ranked season, as well as an April Fool's Day event.
