New Worldupdate 1.9.3 is here, and there are changes to Springtide Bloom, new Season Pass activities, balance changes, and a number of fixes to quests and more.
This is a mostly housekeeping update, with the bulk of it dedicated to fixes. The Season Pass got a fix of its own, to an issue preventing players from getting the Just Getting Started level 1 task. The rest of Season Pass changes are seven new activities and some adjustments intended to let players complete tasks faster. The new activities are:
Among the tweaks was to change “Participate in 3 arenas” down to 1, get 30 Outpost Rush wins, down from 100, and other adjustments of a similar nature. Since this is the first season and the first pass, it makes sense that the New World team may be looking at a balance of data and feedback and seeing where adjustments were warranted.
There are several important fixes, including the removal of deprecated lore notes in a quest that were causing the game to soft lock when players interacted with them. They’ve also fixed an issue that was letting people bring game-mode items into the world. Goodbye, powder kegs in the wilds of Aeternum. Another fix applied was for those players who were unable to turn off their PVP flag.
Several economic balance changes are also in the patch, with both reductions and increases to costs and some lifted limits on Varangian POIs and Flame Core-related crafting and casts.
For the Springtide Bloom event, Beekeeper and Springtime Ruffles apparel sets are now available as individual purchases in the event shop. You can now get four Springtide Jingle coin bags a day, up from three. There’s also now a Heartrune charge to the Wispy Wasp swarm.
