Nintendo is to announce a new Nintendo Switch OLED Mario Red Edition, renowned deals leaker 'billbil-kun' has claimed.
In a new article on the French deals site Dealabs, the deals leaker claims that Nintendo has a surprise in store as part of the upcoming Super Mario Wonder Direct later tomorrow. This Direct will provide additional information about the new Super Mario, which is slated for a release on October 20.
Going by the information from 'billbil-kun', however, Nintendo will also announce a new Switch OLED model during the Direct. This new model is said to be called 'Switch OLED Model - Mario Red Edition', and while the leaker claims to have seen the new model, visuals haven't been shared due to legal reasons. The only difference with the current Switch OLED model would be the color, which is said to be designed in red. " No customization including a Super Mario-themed design is to be expected", the leaker writes.
Both the Docking station and the Joy-Con controllers will come in a red design and will be priced at €349.99 - the same price as the regular OLED model. Furthermore, the leaker writes that "some merchants will even offer it at a more attractive price in France, which will be around 310 euros".
As for the release date of this new limited edition Switch OLED Mario Red Edition - an exact release date hasn't been provided, but it's been claimed that it should launch sometime next month.
For now, take the information above with a pinch of salt as Nintendo hasn't officially confirmed the existence of the new Switch OLED model. Then again, 'billbil-kun' has been spot on with his deals leaks for quite some time, correctly leaking upcoming games as well as PlayStation Plus and Game Pass titles.
