New Forsaken Tabards with and without the Shattered Mask of Sylvanas have been datamined in Patch 10.1 Embers of Neltharion! Currently, there are no items associated with these new tabards, so it remains to be seen if these will eventually be obtainable by players or just NPC armor. — inv_tabard_undercityforsaken_b_02 The above tabard is a vast departure from the shattered mask insignia that has been traditionally associated with the Forsaken. This new insignia is a Forsaken skull surrounded by a circle with 5 points.
While it may seem a bit more generic at first glance, there's a lot of symbolism that shouldn't be lost on players. Replacing the mask for a Forsaken skull could mean that the focus has shifted away from Sylvanas after her abandonment of the Horde and now lands squarely on the well-being of the Forsaken.
The 5 points on the circle could be in reference to the 5 Desolate Council members (Lilian Voss, Calia Menethil, Deathstalker Commander Belmont, Dark Ranger Velonara, and Master Apothecary Faranell) that now lead the Forsaken in the rebuilding of their race and reclamation of Lordaeron. — inv_tabard_undercityforsaken_b_01 An updated tabard featuring the more traditional Forsaken insignia of the shattered mask of Sylvanas and the three arrows associated with the Windrunner sisters has been datamined as well. It's interesting that both of these tabards have been added at the same time rather than just one or the other.
