Hogwarts Legacy was released a few months ago (shattering sales records), allowing many to live out their nascent Harry Potter fantasies. Notably absent from the curriculum was Quidditch, the undeniably appealing sport of Harry Potter's Wizarding World. In-game, Headmaster Nigellus Black cancelled the Quidditch tournament for the year, citing safety concerns.
Still, some players have a more conspiratorial theory: that it was intentionally left out to be sold separately instead in the form of the standalone Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, also published by Warner Bros. Games.
In threads like this and others on the Hogwarts Legacy subreddit, many players are voicing their frustration at this state of affairs and at the alleged brazenness of the move. Certainly, it's notable how often characters in Hogwarts Legacy comment on how weird it feels not having Quidditch on that year, a sentiment echoed by players.
Honestly, it isn't great timing, and we can certainly see why players would feel frustrated. Quidditch Champions is being developed in collaboration with WB Games, Portkey Games (the developer of Hogwarts Legacy) and Unbroken Studios, who notably assisted on the recently delayed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
What do you think about the whole situation? Will you be picking up Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, regardless? Let us know in the comments section below.
