New Aberrus Raid Cosmic Void Skybox Datamined in Patch 10.1
In a continuation of our Void references found within Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible, a new Cosmic Void skybox has been datamined on the Patch 10.1 PTR. Void References in Aberrus The new skybox is labeled 10DU Black Dragon Raid — Cosmic Void which doesn't give any clear indication which encounter will use this spectacular sky box. However, if we had to wager a guess, it'll likely be used for Scalecommander Sarkareth, the final encounter in Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible. This is due to a few reasons:
Cosmic Void icons have been added and are now linked to certain spells used throughout the Sarkareth encounter, such as Scouring Eternity or Infinite Duress. The Encounter Journal for Sarkareth, references tapping into the Void and destroying the room which may require an additional skybox. «When weakened, he draws upon the power of the Void to enhance his draconic powers, using and to summon and strengthen images of himself.» «Upon being damaged further, Sarkareth destroys the room to fully draw in powers of the Void and convert his abilities to their most powerful forms.»Sarkareth also drops the Beacon to the Beyond trinket with a very void-themed on-use effect. We have seen similar skybox changes with a void-theme, from the Star Augur Etraeus encounter in the Nighthold. If Sarkareth is anything like Star Augur, expect a fantastic view for the culmination of Aberrus and 10.1.
