A new photo from the set of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness reveals America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) in the midst of filming a running scene. Doctor Strange 2 is an upcoming MCU movie, set to be released on May 6 and is the sequel to the 2016 movie, Doctor Strange. Stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Rachel McAdams will resume their roles as Doctor Strange, Baron Mordo, and Chiristine Palmer, respectively.
The highly anticipated sequel film will introduce a new character — America Chavez. She appears in the Marvel Comics as a superheroine who can fly and open portals to other universes. Chavez is primarily known for being in the Young Avengers comics. Chavez’s unique superhero skills will likely add layers and depth to viewers’ understanding of the MCU's multiverse, which will be properly introduced and established in the upcoming film. Additionally, Chavez’s abilities will serve as a comparison point between her character and Doctor Strange, since Doctor Strange seeks to guard the barriers between universes.
