A new video may have just let a big Xenomorph surprise slip.
Alien: Romulus will be released in United States theaters later this month. Directed by Fede Álvarez, the film stars Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, and more.
20th Century Studios has now released a new video promoting the Alien movie’s upcoming release. In the video, around the 0:22 mark, there’s a brief scene that sees multiple Xenomorphs crawling out of the title, which suggests that there may be more than one full-grown creature the space colonist crew will have to deal with.
Check out the new Alien: Romulus video below (watch more trailers and clips):
“Alien: Romulus takes the phenomenally successful Alien franchise back to its roots: While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe,” the official synopsis reads.
In addition to Spaeny and Jonsson, the forthcoming horror movie stars Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu.
Alien: Romulus will be the seventh official entry in the Alien film franchise (or ninth when including the two Predator crossovers) 2004’s Alien vs. Predator and 2007’s Aliens vs Predator: Requiem) following 1979’s Alien, 1986’s Aliens, 1992’s Alien3, 1997’s Alien Resurrection, 2012’s Prometheus, and 2017’s Alien: Covenant.
Ridley Scott — who directed Alien, Prometheus, and Alien: Covenant, among many other titles — is producing the movie alongside Michael Pruss and Walter Hill. Prior to this, Álvarez previously made 2013’s Evil Dead remake, 2016’s Don’t Breathe, and 2018’s The Girl in the Spider’s Web.
Alien: Romulus will be released in United States theaters and IMAX on August 16, 2026, from 20th Century Studios. Visit Fandango’s website by clicking here to get tickets now.
