New images from Netflix's Resident Evil show give fans a closer look at many of the characters and the franchise's iconic zombie dogs. Based on the popular video game series of the same name, Resident Evil joins a host of adaptations of the source material, including a series of action films starring Milla Jovovich and last year's more horror-oriented Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. The upcoming series takes place 30 years after the discovery of the T-Virus, with a new outbreak revealing the dark secrets of the ominous Umbrella Corporation.
The first trailer for the new Resident Evil series teases two separate timelines, one in 2022 and one in a post-apocalyptic 2036. Jade Wesker (Ella Balinska), daughter of the iconic Albert Wesker (Lance Reddick), takes center stage in both timelines, working to uncover the secrets hidden within Umbrella Corporation while navigating hordes of the infected. In addition to Balinska and Reddick, the series also stars Tetiana Gaidar, Turlough Convery, Conner Gosatti, Paula Nuñez, and Lea Vivier, among others. The trailer for Resident Evil didn't give too much away in terms of what viewers can expect, but it did unveil a first look at the zombie dogs that have appeared in various other franchise installments.
