After soft-launching it in mid-February, Netflix has finally dropped Sonic Mania Plus globally on Android. It’s obviously an exclusive for all Netflix subscribers. During the past couple of months, the game saw over 10K downloads on Android alone.
Originally released for various platforms in 2018, Sonic Mania Plus is finally making its mobile debut through Netflix. In the game, you can dash, leap and grab gold rings as Sonic, Tails or Knuckles. Speed and nostalgia are at the core of Sonic Mania Plus.
Filled to the brim with references to past Sonic adventures and hidden treasures, the game pays homage to the iconic blue hedgehog and his pals. Sonic Mania Plus stays true to the essence of what made Sonic an icon. No convoluted storylines or gimmicky gameplay. It’s the classic platforming action that takes us back to the golden age of Sega Mega Drive graphics.
Alongside Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, you’ll see newcomers like Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel. Mighty brings a mean ground-pound move, while Ray has extraordinary gliding skills. Plus, you’ll encounter the one and only Dr. Robotnik in this game, too, just like the others.

Sonic Mania Plus now joins Sonic Prime Dash, a tie-in to the Netflix series Sonic Prime. It wrapped up its final season earlier this year. Plus, there’s a bonus level that nods to Sonic Spinball. The game is loaded with a ton of mini-games to keep you hooked.
The game offers multiple modes. You have the option to challenge yourself with a Time Trial mode and race against the clock. Or engage in local multiplayer with friends in Competition mode. Additionally, Encore mode has lots of new features, like the ability to customize level designs and swap between characters during gameplay.
So, what are you waiting for? Grab your rings, or rather grab Sonic Mania Plus from the Google Play Store first! Before heading out, take a look at our other recent news. It’s A Wrap For English
