NBA 2K23 MyTeam will finally remove the need for contracts and will improve fan favourite modes.
The biggest change is that contracts, consumable items that were required in order to use a player, have been removed.
“We’ve implemented a number of highly requested changes to MyTeam this year that were top of mind for our community, including the removal of contracts, along with the addition of Triple Threat Online: Co-Op that allows players to team up with friends for the first time ever to test their skills in Co-Op 3v3 online gameplay”, said Erick Boenisch, VP of NBA development at 2K and Visual Concepts.
Triple Threat sees players play pickup games on shorter courts using three of their best players. Party Mode, Co-Op and Competitive Online will all join the mode, which has previously seen players win matches in order to progress up a reward ladder.
The $250,000 MyTeam Unlimited Tournament also returns this year for each console generation. Players must reach the Emerald Tier in the new Unlimited before the first GameDay on October 15 to participate. The finalists will be brought to an in-person setting to crown the $50,000 Console Champions, and the $200,000 Grand Champions.
NBA 2K23 will also feature the Jordan Challenge, in honour of the cover star of the game’s special editions.
The game mode features 15 playable moments from Michael Jordan’s career which let players relive his legacy, from his early days as a college sensation to his game-winning shot in the 1998 NBA Finals.
NBA 2K23 will be released on September 9, 2022.
