Mortal Kombat Fans Are Already Debating Which Guest Characters They Want In 12
In case you have been living under a rock, it was revealed in an earnings call last week that Mortal Kombat 12 is releasing later this year. While no official announcement has been made, the news comes straight from the mouth of Warner Bros.’ president and CEO. That hasn't stopped the MK community from speculating on what this new entry in the series may look like though, as fans are giving out their hopes for the game’s roster.
After the news broke, several Reddit threads popped up with people sharing their dream guest characters. These range from classic video game characters to those found in film and television series. There are even a few comic book characters being wished for.

One such thread opens with some prime examples of what Mortal Kombat games of the past have given us. After name-dropping previous guest characters like Terminator, Rambo, Robocop, and Spawn, the user proposes that Wesley Snipes’ Blade would be a great addition to the roster. After all, the Marvel character has a great move set, some badass costumes, and “he’s a cold ass mf”.
Sticking to iconic characters from the world of comics, another user simply posted a photo of the DC Comic character Lobo. Although, some comments in the thread worry he would be too “OP” for MK.
Another thread brings up the interesting point that Mortal Kombat has never featured a female guest character. It then goes on to list some great ones that would fit well into the series. They include Selene from the Underworld films, Lucy Liu and Uma Thurman’s characters from the Kill Bill series, Furiosa from Mad Max, and Senua from Hellblade.
