Oops. Someone at Warner Bros financials has jumped the gun and announced Mortal Kombat 12 and that it will be out this year. You can see the clip below from Warner Bros Discovery.

And there’s lots more to come, including the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat 12 and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, games also set for release this year with ambitious launch projections.
Mortal Kombat 12 (or maybe XII) has not been officially announced and no details have leaked. Ed Boon, creator of the series, has also been very quiet on the subject. I expect that won’t last and there will be a Tweet very soon.
This does mean 2023 will see the launch of new games in the Street Fighter, Tekken and Mortal Kombat series, fighting game fans are going to have very sore thumbs by Christmas.
The most recent addition to the Mortal Kombat franchise was Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind, an animated film. Snow Blind was released on October 11th 2020 and is the third instalment in the Legends series.
Hopefully the game will be a little better than Mortal Kombat 11 which we scored 7/10 in our review way back in 2019.
