Mortal Kombat 11 is the latest game in the Mortal Kombat series, and it followed in the footsteps of the two previous games by introducing a number of new characters to the brawl. However, the newcomers of this game appear to have been less fortunate than most of the characters introduced inMortal Kombat 10 and Mortal Kombat 9. Mortal Kombat 11 has a very high body count even for a Mortal Kombat title, and it appears that Geras has now died permanently as well.
Geras was introduced in Mortal Kombat 11 as the loyal underling of the villain Kronika. His fighting style revolves around his control of earth and sand, but in the story, his main claim to fame is his inability to die. In the base game, he survives a number of painful and lethal events, but his luck may have finally run out in the DLC.

In both possible endings for the Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath DLC, Kronika is defeated. Geras also gets himself into trouble when Shao Kahn beats his head into pulp, after which he stops making appearances. While this may pale compared to other things Geras has survived, it appears that Kronika is the reason Geras can't die in the main game. Senior Production Manager, Design at NetherRealm Studios Jonathan Andersen recently implied on Twitter that it's possible defeating Kronika for good also killed off Geras permanently.
There's evidence for this possibility in the main game as well. In Geras' arcade ending, he defeats Kronika himself and then sacrifices his life to the hourglass. This appears to give the restless immortal peace at long last. It would seem that, because Geras' immortality is directly linked to Kronika, killing her will allow him to die as well. Since Kronika
