Deep Rock Galactic Players Are Turning Their Dwarves Into Mortal Kombat’s Raiden

Co-op shooter Deep Rock Galactic has become a surprise success for many in the gaming industry. Allowing players to become dwarves mining deep space caves and battling bugs, the mining gameproved to be incredibly popular, beginning with just a few players as it launched on early access in 2018, to have millions of Deep Rock Galactic players in late 2021.

Many games have brought updates, items and cosmetics as part of the Lunar New Year in 2022. Steam as usual had a large sale celebrating the event, and Deep Rock Galactic has given players customization options for their dwarves as part of the Lunar New Year. One of these customization options has players wearing a hat that they've found very similar to the hat worn by Mortal Kombat character Raiden.

Deep Rock Galactic characters can be seen wielding lightning, and one fan even put extra effort into their meme, showing their dwarf as a selectable character in Mortal Kombat 11.

Mortal Kombat is a franchise that's no stranger to crossovers. In each modern Mortal Kombat game, guest characters from other Warner Bros properties such as the Joker and Spawn have made appearances.
