The sorcerer returns to the playable roster in December.

While Mortal Kombat 1 players have seen some of Quan Chi's capabilities in the campaign mode, the evil sorcerer confirmed for the Kombat Pass has yet to be fully shown off. That will change this weekend, as MK series creator Ed Boon has confirmed that the Quan Chi reveal trailer is on its way.
Boon tweeted a brief clip of Quan Chi clashing with Shang Tsung after the character-select screen, which is the first look at him outside of the campaign. Shang Tsung remarks that he wished the alliance between him and Quan Chi «would be more…deadly»--an obvious reference to Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance on PS2--and Quan Chi simply laughs.

Boon captioned the video «CCXP should be fun,» which implies the trailer will debut at the upcoming CCXP convention in Sao Paulo, Brazil. According to the convention's official website, Boon is slated to appear on December 3.
Quan Chi returns to the playable roster since 2015's Mortal Kombat X, where he was killed in the game's story mode by Scorpion. He is the second character to be added to Mortal Kombat 1 in the Kombat Pass, with Omni-Man from Invincible releasing earlier this month.
Mortal Kombat 1 is available now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The Kombat Pass is also available now, both as a separate purchase and in any of MK1's premium editions.
