The latest DLC guest fighter, Peacemaker, comes to Mortal Kombat 1 next week.
A new trailer released by Warner Bros Games and NetherRealm Studios shows the Suicide Squad character in action.
The trailer also reveals that, like the movie and TV show version, the character will feature the voice and likeness of John Cena, with new dialogue recorded specifically for the game.
“Peacemaker is ready to challenge Liu Kang’s New Era of peace and is equipped with a formidable moveset incorporating the character’s expert gunslinging skills, signature helmet abilities, and loyal bald eagle sidekick, Eagly, all complemented by his legendary dance moves and brash humor,” Warner Bros Game said.
The trailer also shows gameplay footage of Janet Cage, a female version of Johnny Cage who will be added to the game as a Kameo character.
Janet briefly appears as one of the alternate dimension fighters near the end of the game’s Story mode, but now officially joins the Kameo roster, both as part of the Kombat Pack and for standalone purchase.
Kombat Pack owners will be able to start using Peacemaker from February 28, then he’ll get a full release on March 6 for other players to buy him. Janet Cage will then be available as a Kameo character later in March.
February 28 will also mark the addition of cross-play support, as previously promised by NetherRealm. This will enable PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC players to play each other in 1 vs 1 Kombat League matches, Kasual matches and Private matches.
VGC’s Mortal Kombat 1 review called it the best game in the long-running series to date, awarding it a score of 5/5.
