Moon Knight star May Calamawy has praised Oscar Isaac's portrayal of multiple identities in the upcoming MCU television series. Best known for her role as Dena Hassan in the hit Hulu show Ramy, the Egyptian-Palestinian actress also appeared in the Ed Helms-led comedy film Together Together. Calamawy will star inMoon Knight as the Layla El-Faouly, an archeologist and adventurer from the titular character's mysterious past.
Originally created for Marvel Comics in 1975, the new MCU series marks Moon Knight's first live-action appearance. Oscar Isaac stars as Marc Spector, a former U.S. Marine who has become a mercenary for hire. Spector wrestles with dissociative identity disorder (DID), a complex psychological condition that can cause them to have multiple, distinct identities. After being imbued with supernatural powers by the Egyptian god Khonshu (F. Murray Abraham), Spector must uncover the truth about his multiple lives and battle Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke), a religious zealot who wishes to cleanse the world at the instruction of the Egyptian god Ammit.

During a recent Moon Knight press conference that Screen Rant attended, actor May Calamawy praised Oscar Isaac's portrayal of his character's multiple identities. One confirmed alter of Marc Spector is Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift shop employee who suffers from memory loss caused by frequent blackouts.
