In Hawkeye, Kate Bishop claimed a record previously held by Iron Man, but Mook Knight has already broken Kate’s record. Hawkeye and Moon Knight are both Disney+ TV series that serve to introduce new major heroes who will appear in upcoming projects. While Hawkeye was a relatively light-hearted Christmas romp, Moon Knight is something all together darker.
In Moon Knight episode 1, “The Goldfish Problem,” Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac) goes to sleep in his bed in London and then suddenly finds himself in a village in the Alps and being chased by men with guns. When Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke) asks him for the scarab, Khonshu refuses to let him give it up, and Marc Spector takes over. When Steven regains control he has clearly killed several people and is covered in blood. As the scene continues the conflict gets more bloody as Marc Spector shoots several people and forces cars off the road and down a mountain.

When Hawkeye debuted, it came as a shock in episode 3, “Echoes” when Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) killed people: an explosive arrow blew up a van and certainly killed whoever was inside. Kate Bishop was the first hero to kill humans, intentionally or otherwise, during her first outing since the MCU’s very early days when Tony Stark killed people in Iron Man (2008). With Marc Spector’s bloody conflict, the Moon Knight TV series has clearly out-performed Kate Bishop’s Hawkeye performance in terms of lives taken, granting it the dubious honor of the most recent time a hero has premiered in the MCU and killed people at the same time.
