Warning: SPOILERS for Moon Knight episode 1.
The MCU's anticipated Moon Knight debut left viewers with some questions and headscratchers, five of which are particularly intriguing. After introducing Oscar Isaac's Steven Grant, the audience is put in the same disoriented state as he is in by often cutting away from the action and suddenly placing him in undisclosed locations. To maintain the episode's confusion, the primary personality to whom Steven Grant is an alter, Marc Spector, doesn't officially arrive until the end of the episode. As the first episode of the entire series, it's natural that «The Goldfish Problem» will provide a lot of fodder for future answers. However, discussing some questions before they're answered will lead to piecing together hints and clues that could further develop Moon Knight's characters.
Moon Knight takes some slightly different directions than the comics. For example, Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke) is the show's primary antagonist, yet in the comics, he only exists in one issue. For a time, fans playfully theorized that Harrow's secret identity was Dracula, especially considering the MCU's upcoming Blade movie. Hawke debunked this theory, but he found it entertaining nonetheless. Oscar Isaac also revealed that his more bumbling approach to Steven Grant was different from what producers originally intended. However, considering how out of touch Steven is supposed to be in the show, this character approach works better than his millionaire comic book counterpart and helps avoid Marvel's Moon Knight Batman problem. Moon Knight's debutdoesn't rely too heavily on existing MCU material, working instead as more of a character study for someone out of touch with his own world.
