Despite being a standalone series focused mainly on its titular character, Moon Knight is opening doors for other characters from the Marvel Comics to make their MCU debut. In a six-episode production, Moon Knight brings Marc Spector to the screen for the first time, played by Oscar Isaac. Unlike other MCU entries, Moon Knight isn’t diving into references to the larger universe and is instead offering a character study on Steven Grant/Marc Spector.
So far, Moon Knight has been treated as a limited series, and actor Oscar Isaac revealed he hasn't signed a multi-picture deal as other MCU stars have done. According to the actor, his and the creative team's only concern was to nail the show and the character without thinking too much about what role Moon Knight could play later in the MCU. That said, given the history of the franchise and how well-received Oscar Isaac's portrayal of Moon Knight has been, it's very unlikely the MCU won't revisit the character in the future.

In addition to introducing a character who had yet to make his live-action debut, Moon Knight is also setting the stage for other heroes and antiheroes from the Marvel universe to join the MCU. Moon Knight has an overall tone quite different from other recent Disney+ shows, especially in terms of violence and how it deals with the supernatural element.
