Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Moon Knight episode 3!
The MCU can no longer deny that the character at the center of Moon Knight is their version of Batman. Comparisons to the legendary DC hero have been around since Moon Knight was created by Marvel Comics in the mid-'70s. Interestingly, the same month the latest iteration of Bruce Wayne's caped crusader became the focus of a new movie with The Batman, Disney+ premiered Moon Knight, churning up the comparisons once again.
Like Bruce Wayne, Marc Spector, the primary persona linked to Moon Knight, served as a mercenary in the comics who relied on hand-to-hand combat and tech gadgets rather than superhuman abilities. Both men have been known to have dark and gritty backstories, with their role as vigilantes funded by their respective wealth. While Oscar Isaac's character is shown living with dissociative identity disorder (DID) in Moon Knight, which correlates with the comics, the Disney+ series has made an effort to break the Batman comparison. Aside from bypassing Moon Knight's wealth to show Steven Grant, an alter, working in a gift shop, the MCU is confirming that Moon Knight doesn't have a «no-kill» rule like Batman, especially when Marc is in control.

With that said, despite the differences Moon Knight has tried to establish, episode 3, titled «The Friendly Type,» shows that the character can no longer hide from the fact that it's the MCU's Batman. No matter what the series does to give Marc an opportunity to shine as the titular character, his version of the character is the epitome of Batman.
