Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is getting a free demo today
The upcoming Sunbreak expansion for Monster Hunter Rise is getting a free demo on both Switch and PC today.
The demo, which doesn’t appear to require a copy of Monster Hunter Rise to play, is 3.2GB in size and includes four quests which can be replayed as many times as the player wants.
The first three quests, which get progressively more difficult, let players attempt to slay a Great Izuchi, a Tetranadon and an Astalos. In each quest they are allowed to faint nine times.
They can then take on the fourth mission, which is “tuned specifically for the most veteran of players” and has them trying to slay a Malzeno with only three faints allowed.
Three training quests will also be included in the demo, the first being a standard one for newcomers to teach them the basics of the game.
The other training quests will teach players how to use Wyvern riding (which lets them temporarily control monsters) and the new Switch Skill Swap technique.
Although the demo is a standalone release and that won’t let players transfer their progress to the main game upon completion, it does create save data that can be identified by the final version of Sunbreak.
If Sunbreak detects save data from the demo on the player’s Switch or PC, they will get a bonus item pack containing 60 Mega Potions, 15 Pitfall Traps, 30 Energy Drinks, 15 Mega Demondrugs and 15 Mega Armorskins.
The demo can be played by up to four players locally or online, as long as every player has downloaded it.
