Meowscarada Has Been Voted Scarlet & Violet's Most Popular Pokemon In Japan

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, despite all of its shortcomings, added some pretty great new 'mons to the series' ever-growing Pokedex. It's introduced some new fan favorites, but only one of them can be crowned the game's most popular Pokemon. That's exactly what a Japanese fan poll has done recently, with Meowscarada coming out on top, after a whopping 152,681 votes.

You can see the poll's top ten most popular Pokemon below, with Meowscarada managing to amass an impressive 2,674 votes. Trailing behind quite considerably in second is the ever-adorable Fuecoco with 2,148 votes, while Chandelure surprisingly takes home the bronze medal, just behind Fuecoco slightly with 2,022 votes.

Tinkaton and Clodsire are the other two Scarlet & Violet representatives in the top ten, coming in fifth and eighth respectively, while the rest of the list is made up of consistently popular Pokemon such as Slyveon, Lucario, Mimikyu, Gengar, and Gardevoir. You can check out the top 100 Pokemon on the website on which the poll took place, and there are quite a few notable inclusions.

For example, the newly introduced Ogerpon just missed out on the top ten, coming in eleventh, which is surprising given how little time it's been given to prove itself to Pokemon fans. Ceruledge, Pawmi, and Sprigatito are a few other very popular Scarlet & Violet additions, while Quaxley finds itself down in last place with just 403 votes, making him the least popular starter by a country mile.

Koraidon is ranked just a few places above Miraidon, meaning they're both pretty popular, but the former is the preferred Legendary. Pikachu also makes the list, sitting at position 38, which isn't exactly a great outing from the mascot of the Pokemon series. Still, he's had some
