Reletlessly-anime JRPG The Caligula Effect: Overdose is getting a native PS5 version in 2023, publisher NIS America has revealed. Overdose is a remake of the original Caligula Effect, which smoothed away many of that game's rougher edges.
Featuring a story penned by Tadashi Satomi, scenario writer on Persona and Persona 2, and a similar school-based setting (with power derived from the friends you make) The Caligula Effect: Overdose might just fill the Persona-shaped hole in your heart, at least for a little while.
Did you play The Caligula Effect on Vita, or Overdose on PS4? If so, what do you think of the series? Let us know in the comments section below.
My question is: is this a free PS5 upgrade for those who got the PS4 version? Or are they going the Persona route and making it a completely separate paid release with no upgrade path?
@dskatter From what the article says, it’s a remake not a remaster, so they’d be well within their rights to charge accordingly.
