Amazon Games' highly anticipated flagship MMORPGNew World was released on PC last September and initially saw a huge population of players eager to explore the island of Aeternum. Using a stamina-based combat system more closely resemblingDark Souls than World of Warcraft and boasting an engaging three-way faction war, New World was seemingly bound to be the next big MMO in a genre bereft of promising new titles. New World's population fell sharply after release, however, due to players' frustration with the lack of endgame content, bugs, and performance issues. In an effort to retain players and address the biggest issues, New World has been releasing large monthly updates with new content and polished systems.
