MultiVersus is a week into its first proper Season, and for the most part, things seem to be going well. Fans have been loving the addition of Morty Smith, the latest fighter to make his way to the game's roster. With Rick on the way, as well as two surprise fighters in Black Adam and Stripe, there are plenty of characters to look forward to in the inaugural Season. This is in addition to new features like a Ranked Mode, something that fans have been wanting since they first got to try out the game.
While there is plenty to love about MultiVersus, one aspect of the game that has proven controversial is its microtransactions. Many feel that the cosmetics on offer are far too pricey, even if a lot of effort has gone into the creation of certain skins and items. As such, some hoped that the first battle pass for MultiVersus would provide some Gleamium, the paid in-game currency, to help cushion the blow of these costly customization options. Unfortunately, no Gleamium is offered in the first battle pass, one of a few major issues with the current system.
MultiVersus: Complete Roster So Far
When looking at the many other successful battle passes within the video game industry, a common trend is that players can acquire some paid currency just by progressing through each pass. While an astronomical amount is never given out, gamers usually make enough V-Bucks, COD Points, or other currency types to buy the next pass. In theory, players can purchase one battle pass, gather up the currency, and get their next one for free, doing this for the entirety of a live service game’s life cycle. This is not the case with MultiVersus, and that should change.
