Young Sheldon season 5's new trailer shows Mary (Zoe Perry) struggling to stop Missy (Raegan Revord) from growing up. The Big Bang Theory spin-off show is entering the final stretch for the year, after returning from a mid-season break in December. The prequel series, naturally, follows a young Sheldon Cooper and explores his unique childhood as a boy genius well before he moves to Pasadena and meets the Big Bang Theory gang.
Mary and Missy have had a tumultuous relationship in Young Sheldon season 5. Earlier in the year, Missy struggled with nursing her first heartbreak and peer pressure, and started lashing out at her parents. She has also become interested in learning more about romantic and sexual relationships. Mary, attempting to help, organized a talk at her school to educate her and her fellow students. However, instead of being glad, Missy didn't like it. Her mother's appearance made her the butt of her classmates' jokes. To make matters worse, both Missy and Mary developed the same crush on Youth Pastor Rob (Dan Byrd), unbeknownst to each other.
