Warning! Spoilers for DC Mech #1 (of #6) by DC Comics below
DC's greatest heroes, including Superman, The Flash, and Batman, will be trading in their usual superhero costumes, gadgets, and powers for giant-sized mechs in the new limited series, DC Mech. This week, DC Comics revealed a new six-issue series at the ComicsPro retailer convention that will see the Justice League assemble in an all-new way. The alt-universe story features heroes piloting their own Neon Genesis Evangelion-like mechs.
On Thursday, IGN shared an exclusive look at the new limited series from Kenny Porter and Baldemar Rivas. The series will occur in a DC Universe where the greatest heroes pilot giant mech suits, created due to Darkseid and Apokolips waging war on Earth. With the threat of Darkseid returning to the planet at any time, Superman (in a Kryptonian mech), The Flash, and Batman will use the giant mech suits to combat the universe's biggest threat. Porter told IGN the series is inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion, Mobile Suit Gundam, andRobot Tech, as the talented writer wanted to bring mechs to the world of DC Comics.

The mech suits are designed with functionality and each character's strengths in mind, as Rivas told IGN that each of them will enhance their pilot's specific strengths. For example, he teased Batman's dark mech is armed with numerous stealth capabilities and gadgets inspired by his iconic utility belt. Rivas stated he wanted to «introduce something new and exciting, but familiar.» Check out the covers and preview pages for issue one, which features Superman, Batman, and The Flash's mech in front of Darkseid.
