A lot of games have treated Wolverine as a solely combat-focused character, who is only good for slashing foes with his claws. Insomniac Games can add a tiny feature that will make Wolverine a lot more fun to play, as it involves one of his most iconic actions in the X-Men comics and movies.
Marvel's Spider-Man and the Batman Arkham games had the advantage of protagonists who are incredibly agile, which is a useful trait for a video game character to have. Wolverine isn't a character who is known for being agile. He might be quick on his feet in a fight, but he's not gonna be leaping around the battlefield, or swinging from ledge to ledge. The fact that his skeleton is coated in metal is also an impediment to Wolverine jumping around like Mario.

There are other ways for the developers of Marvel's Wolverine to evoke the feeling of playing as the famous member of the X-Men, and other video games have done a great job of emulating him. Wolverine is a fighter character in video games, but he can also be a tracker, thanks to his enhanced senses, while his extended lifespan and decades of traveling the globe have given him a number of skills that most spend a lifetime honing. In the end, the game will come down to fighting, and there's one thing Marvel's Wolverine should introduce that is useful both inside and outside of combat.
