Hasbro recently unveiled its newest figures based on Marvel’s Spider-Man: the villainous Mr. Negative and his Inner Demon henchman. Marvel has always inspired fun and detailed figures based on its various media, and Insomniac’s excellent Marvel’s Spider-Man game series is no different. Hasbro delivered the first wave of these figures when Marvel’s Spider-Man first launched on the PlayStation 5 in 2018, with later releases being modeled after characters from the 2020 spin-off Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Both heroes and villains have had their own action figures modeled after them, and one of the most prominent forces players battle against in Marvel’s Spider-Man is the Inner Demons — a gang of high-class criminals who wreak havoc on New York City following the arrest of Wilson “The Kingpin” Fisk during the game’s opening hours. While these masked enforcers are a dangerous threat thanks to their “Negative Energy” weapons and deadly “Devil’s Breath” virus, it is their leader, the genetically modified Mr. Negative, that poses the biggest challenge to both Spider-Man and his civilian persona of Peter Parker. Mr. Negative is really Martin Li, the owner and founder of the F.E.A.S.T homeless shelter Peter’s beloved Aunt May volunteers at during Marvel's Spider-Man, making the conflict between him and Spider-Man even more personal.
