On the heels of its release delay, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse composer Daniel Pemberton promises the animated sequel will be groundbreaking. The upcoming film picks up sometime after the events of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse as Miles Morales continues trying to figure out who he is as a hero while also balancing his personal life and keeping his secret identity under wraps. Miles will find his life once again complicated by the nature of the multiverse when Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman returns to ask for his help and join a team of new and familiar Spider-People to face off against the powerful enemy, The Spot.
Shameik Moore is returning to lead the cast of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse as Miles alongside Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, Brian Tyree Henry as Jefferson Davis, Luna Lauren Vélez as Rio Morales and Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099. The film will also mark the franchise debuts of Issa Rae as Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman, Jason Schwartzman as The Spot, Shea Whigham as Gwen's father, police captain George Stacy and Jorma Taccone as the Vulture. Original co-writer/producer Phil Lord is once again penning the script with creative partner Christopher Miller and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' David Callaham, while Joaquim Dos Santos is directing with Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson.
