This year, Marvel Comics delivers one of its most enormous events in the form of Judgment Day—astory that places the X-Menagainst the Eternals as the Avengers try to cool the conflict down. The crossover continues to make massive revelations, including variant covers from artists like Peach Momoko, promising an inevitable and historic Marvel Comics clash.
Judgment Day will see the Eternals invading the X-Men's nation of Krakoa upon discovering that mutants are a form of Deviants, the Eternals' enemy. Meanwhile, tensions have been rising between the Avengers and the Eternals ever since the Earth's Mightiest Heroes started using the corpse of a long-dead Celestial as their base of operations. The event begins with A.X.E.: Eve of Judgment #1 by Kieron Gillen and Pasqual Ferry on June 29, followed by the main A.X.E.: Judgment Day miniseries by Gillen and Valerio Schiti in July.

The variant cover art that Peach Momoko revealed on her Instagram is a colorful and cartoonish burst of joy. Cyclops peers over the hand of what looks to be a Celestial or Eternity, bringing Jack Kirby's iconic cosmic style a brand new tone. As Ikaris leans on the giant astral arm, Echo sits curled up on the other end of the page. Momoko's variant cover truly represents all the different aspects of the Marvel Universe coming together. Whether it turns out to cause more destruction than progress remains to be seen, but Marvel's Judgment Day will seemingly bring a lot of Marvel's corners to a single place.
