WARNING: Potential Spoilers for Judgment Day ahead!
The violent confrontation promised in Marvel Comics' upcoming Judgment Day event is becoming even deadlier with news that a spin-off mini-series titled A.X.E.: Death to the Mutants will see the Eternals attempting to wipe out all mutants while the Avengers and the X-Men try to stop them. Marvel has slowly revealed that the main plot of Judgment Day will involve a major retcon to the mutants of the Marvel Universe, establishing them as the mortal enemies of the Eternals.
The Eternals and the X-Men have been keeping major secrets from The Earth's Mightiest Heroes, like how Thanos is now the ruler of the Eternals, and that all mutants are now effectively immortal. These hidden agendas will clash in this summer's Judgment Day which sees the Eternals discover that mutants are not in fact an evolutionary branch of humans, but instead an offshoot of the Deviants, the centuries-long enemies of Eternals, and the reason why the Celestials first created them. Now, the Eternals have set their sights on Krakoa, and even the most heroic of the Eternals may not be able to resist their programming.
