NetEase’s 6v6 super hero team-based PvP shooter Marvel Rivals is coming to PlayStation 5. The news was revealed in a new trailer that premiered at Sony’s State of Play this week.
PC players weren’t left in the lurch, either. The trailer also showed off two new characters: Adam Warlock and Venom. NetEase also announced a Closed Beta test on PlayStation is set for sometime this July. PlayStation players will receive an exclusive ‘Scarlet Spider’ costume for Spider-Man when the game hits PlayStation 5 consoles.
NetEase recently concluded its closed alpha test on PC, though that test wasn’t without missteps. The studio got itself into hot water when it was revealed that creators seeking to acquire a key to play in the closed alpha were required to sign a contract that included a non-disparagement clause forbidding them from speaking critically about their experiences.
NetEase soon issued an apology over what it called a “miscommunication” and committed to revising its contracts to be more “creator friendly” going forward, though no specifics were provided on what exactly that might entail. Hopefully this situation is resolved before PlayStation creators look to jump into the closed beta test in July.
No release date is currently set for Marvel Rivals.
