Mark Hamill has shared a fun edit that reimagines Nirvana's Nevermind album cover with a scene from Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back. American rock band Nirvana, started by the late Kurt Cobain, established themselves as one of the best-selling bands of all time across the late eighties into the early nineties. Their second studio album, Nevermind, sold 2 million copies within just four months of release, propelling it to the top spot on the Billboard Top 100. Over the years, the album has secured icon status with its instantly recognizable cover art that features a naked baby swimming towards a dollar bill.
Hamill originated the Star Wars franchise with his role as Luke Skywalker, the Jedi Master, and over the years has demonstrated his true passion for the character that he has now played for more than 40 years. His appearance in A New Hope started the phenomenon that ultimately followed, however, it was its sequel Empire Strikes Back that many people to this day argue is the greatest Star Wars film of all time. For many, Hamill’s Skywalker holds an intense amount of nostalgia, with Disney even recently tapping into this by featuring a young Luke Skywalker (achieved through impressive CGI) in two of their Disney+ series, The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
