Grogu previewed his Force powers in The Mandalorian, but The Book of Boba Fett teased The Child's newfound strength following his time training with Luke Skywalker. Both Grogu and Luke made surprising appearances in The Book of Boba Fett episode 6, with the former also showing up in the series finale of the Disney+ series. He may not have received immense screentime, but there were indicators that some of Luke's training proved successful.
Grogu was deemed special before he officially made his onscreen debut in The Mandalorian, but the fact that he was proven to be Force-sensitive made the small figure even more noteworthy. In The Mandalorian season 1, Grogu memorably lifted a large mudhorn off the ground, healed Din Djarin's injuries, choked Cara Dune, and redirected flamethrower fire from Incendiary trooper with his Force powers. Those abilities took a toll on the foundling, but he managed to show even greater strength in The Mandalorian season 2. Aside from communicating telekinetically with Ahsoka Tano and crafting a Force shield while meditating, Grogu attacked two stormtrooper guards in his holding cell with just his mind. The high count of midi-chlorians also made Grogu a target in the first place, reiterating how strong he may become.

It was Grogu's Force-sensitivity and potential that led him to end up with Luke at the conclusion of The Mandalorian season 2. As Ahsoka suggested, Grogu needed to be with his own kind, receiving guidance.
