It has been revealed that a new is in development, with the studio behind the Star Wars game also being known.
Insider Gaming has reported that a first-person Mandalorian video game is in the early stages of development at Respawn Entertainment. The title will reportedly put players in the role of a Mandalorian bounty hunter, though their identity is unknown at this time. It will take place during the Galactic Empire’s reign, seemingly setting it between Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.
As a bounty hunter, players will earn cash rewards by capturing criminals dead or alive using all sorts of different “weapons and gadgets.” The title is described as “very fast-paced” with high mobility due to the main character’s jetpack, with rewards being doled out to players who take advantage of said mobility.
The outlet notes that the video game won’t be open world and will instead feature more linear stages across different planets, while its unknown if there will be a multiplayer mode.
Finally, the report states that the Mandalorian video game is still a year or two away. Respawn’s former creative director Mohammad Alavi was leading production on the game before his departure in 2022.
