A remake of cult-classic Lollipop Chainsaw was announced recently, set to launch in 2023. However, while fans were excited to learn that the game would finally be playable on current-gen hardware, they were less pleased to learn of the proposed changes to the game. Dragami Games president and former producer of the original Yoshimi Yasuda took to Twitter to reassure everyone.
The message was spotted by VG247, and addresses several key concerns fans of the original game have. Yasuda said, "we would like to take the time to share our thoughts and intentions regarding the project."

He notes that "the ideal thing to do would be to make a remastered version of the original game," but due to licensing issues, 16 songs from the original can't be included. Because of this, the game's feel will change, so "we are instead aiming for a remake that is as close as possible to a remaster."
He has also confirmed that the remaster won't change the story at all, good news for fans who were concerned about the lack of involvement from original writer and director duo James Gunn and Suda51.
He also clarified what the team meant about improving the graphics of the game. "We do not intend to change the aesthetics of the game [...] we will make use of the advanced rendering technology available in current game consoles. We do not wish to change Juliet's design."
That last sentence is sure to please fans, as Juliet is the type of proud raunchy female lead gaming needs. Yasuda notes that "we were the ones who created Juliet's model data after great trial and error ten years ago, and feel attached to her more than anyone else."
