After a series of teases from the original director, Yoshimi Yasuda, a full remake of Lollipop Chainsaw was announced to be arriving sometime in 2023 to celebrate the title's 10-year anniversary. While the announcement drew a ton of praise as the game has been unavailable for the past few years, Yasuda has found himself having to address fan concern with regard to some questionable information that has been coming out on the state of the Lollipop Chainsaw remake.
Following the announcement of the remake, information became evident that it was going to change a few important things. Most notably James Gunn, who served as a writer on the original, as well as Goichi “Suda51” Suda would tweet out they would have no participation in the remake. The original version of the game also featured a ton of licensed tracks, and much like Sonic Origins having to change the Sonic 3 soundtrack, the remake will be following a similar approach to its music.

Taking note of all the fan concerns, Yasuda took to Twitter to calm the storm. In a statement, he mentions that the team behind the original title chose to remake Lollipop Chainsaw rather than make a new game as the title has been trapped on seventh generation consoles with no opportunity for gamers to play it. Yasuda also mentions that the story will not be changed in any way, and the studio's realistic approach to the graphics will not mess with Juliet Starling's design at all. The studio is solely focused on taking advantage of current generation hardware to make the game look better.
