Lollipop Chainsaw was an action game released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2012. The game starred Juliet Starling, a high schooler who must carve through the hordes of zombies that have appeared in her school. One of Juliet's classmates has summoned The Dark Purveyors: five incredibly powerful zombies, with the ability to turn the living into the walking dead. It's up to Juliet and her undead-hunting family to slay the zombies and take down The Dark Purveyors. In recent years, Lollipop Chainsaw might be best-known for being a collaboration between Suda51 and James Gunn, before the latter found mainstream success directing movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It has been announced that a Lollipop Chainsaw remake is releasing in 2023, though it's unclear which platforms it will be on. As originally a PS3 and Xbox 360 title, the Lollipop Chainsaw remake could potentially appear on all modern platforms, even the Nintendo Switch. Producer Yoshimi Yasuda told IGN that the Lollipop Chainsaw remake will have updated graphics, but it will also be missing an important aspect of the original game.
