The nine-month relationship ended amidst busy schedules for both stars—Pete was filming his next movie in Australia for weeks before the split while Kim tended to her multiple business lines and family matters. Although Kim traveled to meet Pete during his Australia shoot, the couple’s relationship fizzled anyway.
The couple began dating in October 2021, around the time when Kim hosted SNL. After sharing an on-screen kiss, the pair began quietly dating. The Kardashiansviewers got a glimpseinto their relationship at the end of season 1, which featured moments of the couple making long-distance work with frequent video calls and special deliveries on Kim’s private plane. When the promo for The Kardashians season 2 aired, fans saw the couple flirting in person for the first time on the show, as Kim asked Pete to join her in the shower. However, one month after the promo aired, the couple (who fans had dubbed “Kete”) announced their split.

After the breakup, a source told ETthat Kim “didn't feel ready for something serious with him,” saying that the couple “had tons of chemistry, and still do, but she kind of wants to be single and date.” The long-distance portion of Kim and Pete's relationship also took a toll on the couple, according to the source, who said “Pete being away for so longwas hard for them.” However, the pair seem to want to remain friends, and Kim “still thinks he's the nicest and sweetest guy in the world, and there's no drama or anything weird
