LG's latest PC monitor ditches the wide-screen, rectangular design for something closer to a square. On sale now, it features a unique 16:18 aspect ratio across its 27.6-inch screen.
As the name suggests, the LG DualUp Monitor is designed to double the screen space by widening the display from top to bottom. The result offers the same screen real estate as two 21.5-inch monitors, according to LG.
The DualUp also has a "split view function," allowing owners to display two separate views on top of each other on the monitor, making it ideal for multi-tasking, the company added.
LG debuted the concept back in December in preparation for CES. But at the time, LG was mum on pricing. On Thursday, the vendor finally revealed the DualUp Monitor will cost $699.99.
In terms of specs, the DualUp features an LG Nano-IPS panel and resolution at 2,560 by 2,880 pixels, or what the company calls “Square Double QHD.” The monitor also has a 60Hz refresh, built-in speakers, and has been rated as a HDR10 display.
The other perk is how it comes with an adjustable stand capable of rotating, swiveling, titling, and moving the screen forward and backward. In addition, the product has an ambient light sensor that can automatically calibrate the display’s brightness based on the surrounding conditions.
“The DualUp supports USB Type-C with up to 90W power delivery, allowing users to seamlessly connect to external devices, charge a laptop and more,” LG said. “Additionally, through its multiport for HDMI, DisplayPort and USB 3.0, users can connect multiple devices at once.”
The company is selling(Opens in a new window) the DualUp Monitor on LG.com for customers in the US.
