Somebody is about to make one heck of a jump in genres. The freshly-hyped Scream 6 has just added Henry Czerny to its ranks, and he's someone who's used to a heart-pounding theater experience. But maybe it isn't quite the same.
Czerny, who played Eugene Kittridge way back in 1996 for the first timeless Mission: Impossible movie and is currently set to reprise the role in the next entry, has just joined the cast of the upcoming slasher sequel Scream 6. The Canadian actor will be joining a collection of new and returning stars from the series of films that enjoyed a resurgence in popularity thanks to 2022's Scream, which served as the 5th movie in the franchise. It's unknown who he will be playing, but filming is set to begin shortly.
Why Scream 6's NYC Setting Is A Good Idea
Aside from Czerny, Scream 6 will also include returning actors Hayden Panettiere, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Jenna Ortega. Dermot Mulroney, Jack Champion, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda, and Josh Segarra have also been tapped to join the cast of the sequel. Plot details are scarce, though it appears that Scream 6 will take place in New York City and follow the survivors of the killings as they try to start new lives away from the franchise's fictional town of Woodsboro.
Czerny has enjoyed a seasoned career in show business over the years, with roles in films like the aforementioned Mission: Impossible, Clear and Present Danger, and the 2019 comedy horror film Ready or Not. Interestingly, the latter also saw Czerny working with directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who are both also behind the dual helms of Scream 6.
